Our City, Our Land – Phoenix Meadows Vision Plan

Empire Dragons NYC continues to support the Phoenix Meadows plan for community-designed parkland surrounding Citi Field. We are in good company, with a recent poll commissioned by State Senator Ramos showing 84% of East Elmhurst and Corona residents also support Phoenix Meadows over Steve Cohen’s Metropolitan Park plan.

The Metropolitan Park plan would develop a casino on parkland. Of residents recently polled, 75% didn’t want one in their neighborhood and 61% did not want to see a full casino anywhere in Queens. The Metropolitan Park plan would also require parkland alienation, resulting in the loss of parkland in a dense urban city. Empire Dragons NYC supports Phoenix Meadows Vision Plan, which will open pathways, connecting our parkland and neighborhoods with the water.
